Christmas Star

I am getting ready for Christmas! I have made this Christmas Star wall hanging using the Square in a Square technique. This quilt is a quick and easy gift that you can make for a friend or for you. To make this Christmas Star wall hanging, you will only need to make 4 Option 14™ in green and 2 Option 14™ in red. It’s that easy! Option 14™ of the Square in a Square method is a great triangle unit that you can use in any quilt design. It also works great for beautiful pieced borders.

These are two wall hangings that I made using the Square in a Square® technique, the pattern is "Constellation" and is found in the Square in a Square book by Jodi Boarrows.

You can increase your quilt piecing skills by learning the Square in a Square® technique! This system allows you to make any level of quilt top with speed and accuracy.

Learn the Square in a Square technique while making a 25" X 25” wall hanging. You will learn Option 1™ and Option 3™. You will also learn strip piecing, chain sewing, pressing and the basic square sewing of the system. In three hours the quilt top will be finished!

Quilting

In this blog I will write about my quilting journey.

I am interested in using fabrics to create artwork. The picture shows a watercolor wall hanging quilt that I made, "Floral Heart Wreath". I created the quilt following the instruction in Dina Pappas book Quick Watercolor Quilts.

I am also interested in traditional quilting patterns and their history behind them and I will be commenting on those as well.

The advancement in technology has reached quilting making piecing much easier and faster.  One technique that I have discovered is called Square in a Square® created by Jodi Barrows.  This new and fascinating technique makes quilting a fast and fun event. I am a Square in a Square certified teacher.  I will post pictures and information of the quilts that I make using the Square in a Square method. Check back soon.
