My first free-motion quilting

I sewed this Ohio Star Table runner using the Square in a Square technique and then I quilted it!
This is my first attempt at free-motion quilting and I am happy with the result. I used my home sewing machine and my secret to great stitches... I kept the feeddogs up.

Here is a picture of the table runner:

Here is a close up picture of the quilting:

Tumbling Blocks the Square in a Square® Way

I have always wanted to make a Tumbling block quilt but was intimidated my diamonds, but I finally made one.  I made this wall hanging with the Square in a Square® technique, without diamonds and setting-in seams! I used Option 1™ of the Square in a Square® to make this beautiful three dimentional look. The difficult part of this pattern was the color placement.

Rolling Star

I am working on a new Square in a Square project.  It is called Rolling Star.  I have made one row to determine if the fabric I have chosen will go together and they do.  It is going to be a fantastic quilt. The Rolling Star block pattern is found in the 10th Anniversary book by Jodi Barrows.

Here is a picture of the row:
I am planning on making 6 more rows and I will alternate the stars. This might be an interesting class to teach.  The pattern looks difficult but it is very easy and it goes together quickly, thanks to the Square in a Square options.

All Spruced Up

“All Spruced Up” from the Square in a Square book, it’s a beauty! It is easy to make using the Option 1™ from the Square in a Square system. This wall hanging was made without cutting or sewing triangles, really!
